Dear Members

Firstly, many apologies for a late newsletter!
Thank you to many of you for completing the questionnaire, the committee have listened to your answers and as a result have arranged extra ride and social events as you requested.

Changes to the committee, we are all missing Anne very much, she was such a hard working committee member, and always had the right information that we needed at the meetings, so it is very sad and rather strange without her. As suggested at the recent AGM we are in the process of organising a memorial trophy. Irene, Angie and Deanne have all stepped down from the committee, thank you for the hard work you have put in over the years, much appreciated.
We welcome Fran Summers to join the committee and she has kindly stepped straight into the role as treasurer and doing the membership. Pam Ewell has taken over as the club secretary.
The committee members all have a role, which are listed above for your information, along with their contact details.

This summer the club has had another very successful year, for a small club we are very competitive in a nice way, as we continue with our club motto of “Teams are for fun”
The Area 12 Horse Trials in June where the 1m team won, the 90 team came second with Alice Wyatt qualifying for the championships where she did very well and came 6th in her section. The club sent three teams to Hartpury for the SWWRC and won two of the four team competitions, the Style jumping team won team members: Sarah Wharton, Davina Hardiman, Gilly Brugge & Wendy Kiy and the Riding test team also won, team members: Sarah Wharton, Fiona Benger, Gilly Brugge & Wendy Kiy with lots of individual placings. Recently the Novice dressage team at KSEC won (Wendy Kiy, Sarah Wharton, Alice Wyatt & Pam Ewell)
Our next Area 12 team competition is the Arena Eventing at Bicton on 25th November, come and cheer your club teams on and see what it is all about!

Rides have been very popular this summer, we have been lucky with good weather, the Exmoor ride was fantastic fun!

Lots of club and open events have been organised for you, and an evening demo and BBQ plus a visit to an eventing or racing yard are in the pipeline for next summer.

Thank you for those of you who have recently renewed your membership, if you have not yet done so, please fill in the enclosed form and send it with payment to Fran ASAP as it is now due.
